Verification of locked file seems to fail silently

Detailed description
Hi,

My apologies if this has already been reported - I couldn't find it on the tracker.

I'm using WinPT 1.2.0 (8 Dec 2006) with GnuPG 1.4.6 on Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 SP2.

I was trying to verify a signature on a MS Word 2003 document which is currently open in Word from the WinPT file manager.

When I attempt to verify it, the file manager dialogue appears, but doesn't show any results, or any indication of an error. Subsequent attempts to verify still give no results or indication of anything happening.

Not until the document is shut in Word do the verification attempts succeed, at which point all seems fine.

It appears that the file is locked locked, and this is not being reported to the user. Delving further, I noticed that if I try to verify it with GnuPG directly, I get the following error.

gpg: can't open `<my file name>'
gpg: verify signatures failed: file open error

This behaviour would probably confuse a lot of users - it might be useful if WinPT could give feedback to the user, e.g. the GnuPG error message, or just indicate that there was a problem.

Great product though. :-)

Cheers,
Leigh.

Actually this is a very good idea and I already do it for the keyrings. I will add some code to check if the file can be open and is not opened by another process exclusively.
