gpg4win 3.0.1 kleopatra crashes during key generation

windows 10 pro x64. Kleopatra 3.0.0-gpg4win-3.0.1 crashes when generating new key pair.
steps:
click on “new key pair” button,
fill in name and email (both are optional? it looks like the name is optional but not the email…).
click Next, then click Create, “pinentry” window opens
enter passphrase and repeat.
click Ok. crash occurs after a couple of seconds.
if instead click Cancel in pintentry, kleopatra crashes immediately.

I documented a Bug report over at https://dev.gnupg.org/T3577

Thanks for reporting on that issue!

is there any activity on this issue?

I am experiencing something similar, the differences are that it doesn’t crash, but gives an error message when I am trying to create my first pair.

message:

The GPGME library returned an unexpected
error at gpagenkeysimpleop.c:224. The error was:

General error

This is either an installation problem or a bug in GPA.
GPA will now try to recover from this error.

I’ve rebooted, uninstalled, rebooted, re-installed, rebooted.

Not getting anywhere, please advise.

Hi Joe,
the defect which was originally reported got fixed with Gpg4win 3.0.2.

It seem you are using GPA… if you are using Gpg4win 3.0.2, please create a new thread or report (if the problem is reproducable).

Best Regards,
Bernhard
