That guy asked the same question basically, so I'll post my same response here:

Is it possible (this is a question, I am not sure of it) that the key gets exported in an encrypted way, with the passphrase?

I am asking because I re-imported a private key of mine and it did not ask for a passphrase. But when trying to use it to sign/decrypt something it asks for a passphrase and does not accept an empty string.

I have a good idea of what the password could consist of (namely a combination of my other passowrds) but bruteforcing is gonna be a bitch...

Hi,
I'm not really into all this crypto stuff, and I simply intalled GPA 090. I realized that I can export my private key "Schlüssel>Sicherheitskpoie anlegen" (? keys> create backup copy ?) without ever beeing asked my passphrase. This seems very unsecure to me, since anyone with access to my PC could steal my private keys, even without knowing the phrase. In this case the whole passphase story seems completely redundant to me. Am I doing anything wrong? Can I block the exporting option for my private key or make it secure?

Thank you for your help!
