You could check the sources if you find no
other method of finding out. Check the gpg4win source ball, as there might be patches in there.
Or ask on the gpg4win-devel@ list, this is likely to give you an answer.

You are so right. The error message is produced by gpgme. What is the difference (or what is gpgME ;-) )?

I like to work on Windows systems (both Win2000 & XP).

On which system do you want this to work?
(GNU/Linux or Windows o?)

Note that gpa should use gpgme which will have the paths.

I am trying to install a portable version of GPA

I installed it on my system, copied it to the usb-stick and then removed the installation.

I can start GPA but of course it start with a "invalid crypto engine" message.

Where is the path to the crypto engine stored?
