Formatted wrong hard-drive, keys lost?

Hi,

I formatted the wrong hard-drive and in the process lost my Kleopatra-keys. I have run testdisk on it and recovered the entire drive, but it is 500 GB and all the file-names are changed. However it might be save-able, because I am hoping that the file-format of the keys is different. Does anyone what it is? If it is a .txt I am in for a long search, but if it is something else, it should be easier.

Thanks!

Hi Notur,

Kleopatra is a frontend to the crypto engine GnuPG.
It usually saves data at %APPDATA%\gnupg
and the key-material is in subdirectories below this,
especially in private-keys-v1.d with file endings “.key” and the file pubring.kbx.

Best,
Bernhard
