Global hooks are required for the "current window" code. The hook just monitors the window changes (create, destroy, set focus).

I loaded winpt as part of gpg4win-1.1.3. My firewall program is now giving me warnings about winpt attaching itself to various comm programs using "global hooks". Exmples are Internet Explorer, Outlook, Firefox. If I refuse the link the program will not work. If this is normal, why is it required? Is it a security risk?
