In order to support PostGIS-enabled layers we need support for Query Layers.

Great feature indeed.
I noticed that the python API for ArcGIS 10.0 handles SDE layers well but is very limited regarding Query Layers.
Such a code in mxd2map would show the way for some query layer automation in ArcGIS 10.0.
